Ellis Mack is currently working with this well-established Edinburgh operator with fantastic reputation and busy daytime trade. If you are an eager, passionate, hungry chef that wants to create outside the box this role is for you. This is a kitchen that prides itself on using the best local ingredients available for the healthy options in mind with more choices leaning towards vegetarian/vegan dishes. This is a very busy restaurant based in he north of Edinburgh and will need a chef that has worked in this kind of operation previously would be most advantageous.

Due to the success of the brand our client is keen to further develop the business with the possible opening of further units or outside catering events. The role also benefits from day time hours as they are closed in the evenings.

Due to this development our client is keen to strengthen the team by recruiting a strong Sous Chef. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar food offering kitchen and be able to work from scratch. Multitasking is key, as is reliability and punctuality.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have an advanced knowledge of culinary skills and past experience working within a professional kitchen at sous chef level. You will have excellent knowledge of Food Hygiene and have the ability to deliver a smooth service. You must also be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for food and fresh ingredients.

Duties:

Ensure that section is up to date with all information within the business
Reporting to the owner
The completion of all food ordering relevant to business levels.
To ensure volume of food cooked in accordance with business levels and ensuring minimum wastage at all times.
To ensure that all food preparation and production is to the required standard.
To ensure that any chefs are trained and duties clearly explained with minimising wastage
To complete all necessary documentation if required
All food correctly labelled and dated and duly stock rotated
To ensure that surrounding kitchen areas and fridges are at all times clean and sanitised.
